Is it possible to get a refund of my registration fees if I am unable to particpateparticipate due to injury or unforeseen circumstances or if I change my mind?
Please note that there are no refunds in case you are unable to participate for any reason.

If I can't run, can I transfer my registration to another runner?
No. If you are unable to run, please turn your entry back in to us. The reason most races, including ours, don't allow it transfers because it encourages scalping of entry fees in sold out races. We are unable to make exceptions because we have no way of verifying the validity of claims when we are contacted for a transfer.

What if the weather is bad on race day?
The race is held rain or shine. In the case of ice, sleet or snow, or other dangerous conditions, an evaluation will be made on race morning as to whether or not the race will be held. If the race is canceled, it will not be rescheduled. Refunds will not be made in the case of inclement weather cancellations.

How do I register by mail?
Registration is accepted online only.

Are headsets, MP3 players, iPods, etc. allowed on the course?
Yes. Based on runner input, we have updated our guidelines on iPods and other headset devices and will no longer prohibit them. Since our course is a closed course during the term of the event, wearing an iPod WILL NOT result in disqualification in and by itself. If wearing an iPod or headset device results in you not hearing or obeying race instructions, you could be disqualified. We expect all participants to use good judgment and take responsibility for their actions should they wear an iPod or similar device during the race. We do ask that all participants be able to hear last minute instructions both at the start and finish lines, and that the ear buds be removed at these locations.

How can I find out about road closures near my home?
For a map of the course, visit our course information page.

What happens to clothes left over at Bag Check/Bag Drop or to clothing discarded along the course?
This clothing is donated to charity. Please pick up you clothes at bag check/bag drop by 12:30 p.m.

Can my friends/family/students/children accompany me for a few miles on the course?
No one is allowed on the race course except for the paid participants, race officials and police. This is especially critical as our race grows in participation numbers. While we agree that it would be fun to have supporters run with you during parts of the race, this hinders the race for other runners, causes us to have to provide additional supplies to unregistered participants and makes our course more crowded. USA Track & Field representatives monitor the race course and have the ability to remove anyone who does not comply with the rules of the race from the course.

  1. Save time, parking fees and have a stress-free race day – take DART to the American Airlines Center. You will avoid road closures, congestion and long waits to park your car. Here’s how…

  2. Not taking DART? Familiarize yourself with more than one parking lot! Many streets normally open during American Airlines Center events will be closed because of the setup for the start-finish lines. Don't count on zipping right into your normal spot! Following instructions of the police who are helping to direct traffic will help us get everyone parked efficiently. Parking information...

  3. Don't wait until the last minute to check your bag! Bring your own bag an and label it in advance with your race bib number to save even more time. More info on bag check...

  4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! It is important to make sure you consume plenty of fluids before and during the race, and not just water! Hydration with only water can lead to a dangerous condition known as hyponatremia that can really ruin your race day. Gatorade Endurace Formula, served at all aid stations on race day, has electrolytes to balance your body chemistry and get you to the finish line.

  5. Lost your chip? Can't find your bib? Race-day help will be available at the north lobby of the American Airlines Center late registration/packet pick-up tent in Parking Lot G before the race, but here's a tip... Put your bib number and chip on your shirt and shoe in advance – when you get home from packet pickup or on the night before the race. Staying organized can help you have a great event.

  6. If you choose to run with music, please be aware that we do allow iPods and other headphone devices. However, we do ask that you remove the headphones at the start/finish line areas as well as keep volume low to stay safe and aware of your surroundings. Quite a few of the streets will be open to traffic in lanes adjacent to the lanes for runners.

  7. Running or walking with friends? Do your fellow participants a favor and don't run or walk more than two abreast! Nobody likes a road hog, and 13.1 miles is far enough without having to run around inconsiderate fellow participants.

  8. Be aware of your surroundings. Be careful not to cut off other faster runners behind you. Everyone will have a great race if we all pay attention.

  9. Have a great event! We love our participants and do everything possible to make race-day great for you. We would love to hear your input after the race, so please stop back by our website and tell us what you loved or where you saw room for improvement!
